About Tendere
Curiosity. Evidence. Perspective.
Tendere is an independent publication devoted to asking questions, examining evidence, and exploring ideas worth understanding.
We believe good questions deserve thoughtful answers—and that good answers should remain open to challenge.
Our interests are broad because the world is interconnected. Technology, economics, business, science, culture, and public life all raise questions about how we live, what we value, and the choices we make.
Some subjects call for rigorous investigation. Others invite a lighter conversation. We make room for both.
Why Tendere?
In his short film Opus, filmmaker Nikita Vorontsov explores a beautiful idea: the meaning of life is found in the reaching.
That idea stayed with us.
The Latin word tendere evokes stretching, extending, striving, and reaching toward something.
We believe there's always something more to understand. Another question worth asking. Another perspective worth considering. New evidence that might challenge what we thought we knew.
We follow the evidence wherever it leads, knowing that answers may change—and that some questions may never be fully settled.
We don't regard that as a reason to stop asking.
It's who we are.
What You'll Find Here
Irreducible is where we examine consequential questions through research, evidence, and independent analysis. We don't begin by assuming the answer.
Six, Two, and Even is where we cover sports, music, film, personalities, and whatever else catches our attention. Serious analysis can coexist with a light attitude and good music.
We welcome disagreement, informed perspectives, and the possibility of changing our minds.
The point isn't to have the last word.
It's to keep reaching.
